Solo Build It! ReviewsA few days ago I happened to stumble across a website named Solo Build It! (from a company named SiteSell) which at a glance, looked relatively interesting & borderline legitimate.

The homepage stated “everyday people, extraordinary results”& the company promised to provide “the complete online business builder that takes you from idea to income”.

And up to this point, everything seemed good…

I even found myself just a few clicks away from signing up & trying it out, but naturally before I did, I decided to do some due diligence & begun looking for some third-party Solo Build It! reviews.

And that’s when things began to get real strange, real quickly.

One website in particular (created by a lady named Kristi) branded the company a flat-out scam & brought to my attention the fact that it actually used to be named Site Build It, prior to changing its name. She (and others) also claim to have been attacked by associates of the company, too.

Needless to say, I didn’t end up joining & in this post I’ll be explaining why. Plus, I’ll also be sharing the strange Solo Build It! reviews & uncovering why I decided to stay well, well away.

So if you’ve been thinking about joining Solo Build It! then be sure to read this post before you do.

What Is Solo Build It!?

The marketing for Solo Build It! puts a strong focus on it being some sort of “work-from-home opportunity” but really, in short, it’s a place that simply provides website building tools & affiliate marketing training.

So rather than working some of sort of work-from-home “job” through Solo Build It!, what you’ll actually be doing is learning how you can build an online business by (primarily) leveraging a method known as affiliate marketing.

And this is great, because I love affiliate marketing & highly recommend it.

In fact, affiliate marketing is actually the exact same way that I personally generate most of my own income online… And I do it through a similar method that’s taught by Solo Build It!.

Now, in case you don’t already know, affiliate marketing basically involves promoting products online in return for commissions on successful sales.

So, as an example, you could sign up to become an affiliate of Amazon (which is free to do) & then that would give you the ability to promote any of the products from the Amazon website to others.

You’d simply get a unique link to share & if somebody happened to click through that link & make a purchase, you’d get paid a commission in return.

It’s a relatively straight-forward process & it’s a pretty powerful way to earn money… But your success relies on your promotions.

You see, in order to become successful with affiliate marketing & generate good money, you need to know how to effectively promote your links – and that’s exactly what Solo Build It! claims to help with.

Through Solo Build It! you’ll be primarily taught how you can create & leverage something known as a niche affiliate website in order to begin attracting visitors & generating sales.

And you’ll also be provided with the tools to build it, too.

So the idea is that you’ll build a niche website around a subject that you’re passionate about & then you’ll create content to add to it which will then get listed in the search engines like Google, Yahoo & Bing etc.

That will mean that you’ll begin getting visitors clicking through to your website & once you’ve begun getting visitors, that means you’ll have gained the opportunity to make money by promoting products.

Or that’s the theory, at least.

And for an example of what it looks like in practice, take a look at the image below which is a screenshot of a real Solo Build It! member’s website:

Niche Website Example

That particular member clearly has an interest in chickens & as a result, they’ve created a chicken-themed niche affiliate website.

As you can see, they’ve also added various pieces of content to the website, one of which (pictured) is an article entitled “storing fertile chicken eggs“.

And so if we head to Google & run a search for that phrase, you can see from the image below that the post actually comes up in position one of the search results:

Google SERP Example

This means that from a one-time effort of creating that piece of content, the owner of that website will now be getting a stream of visitors coming from Google & arriving at their website (for free).

And as previously mentioned, this then gives them the opportunity to promote products to those visitors as an affiliate & earn commissions from successful sales, which is exactly what they’re doing.

Affiliate Promotion Example

Pretty simple, right?

And quite clearly, for this particular Solo Build It! user at least, the process is working.

So up until this point, things were looking pretty good for Solo Build It! and I almost considered handing over my cash to take a look around the platform for myself.

But my mind quickly changed when I began reading the Solo Build It! reviews.

The Strange Solo Build It! Reviews

As soon as I searched for Solo Build It! reviews & seen the search results, I knew something wasn’t quite right.

The reason I say that is because despite Solo Build It! being a web-hosting & affiliate marketing training company, most of the reviews were hosted on random, irrelevant websites (as shown below):

Solo Build It! Reviews

For a moment I thought that there may have been an issue with Google or that the websites has been maliciously hijacked but upon clicking through to them it turned out that the owners of those websites had indeed (strangely) published Solo Build It! reviews.

But why would they do this?

Why would the owner of a chicken-related website be posting reviews about Solo Build It!?

Well, it turns out that, according to a disclaimer in the review, that person actually works for Solo Build It! (shown below):

Solo Build It! Review

And then oddly, when I clicked through to all of the other Solo Build It! reviews I discovered that they all followed a very suspiciously similar trend of advising to “watch out for fake reviews” (examples shown below).

Fake Solo Build It! Reviews

As far as I was concerned, the only reason it was difficult to find a real Solo Build It! review was because of all these fake Solo Build It! reviews created by the workers or the company’s affiliates.

But then I did find a REAL Solo Build It! review & it quickly became clear why the company was trying to hide it by desperately employing workers or affiliates to publish their own “real” reviews.

The REAL review was published by a lady named Kristi who owns a website named Addicted 2 Decorating & in it she outright brands Solo Build It! as a scam.

Solo Build It Scam
(Source: https://www.addicted2decorating.com/site-build-it-scam-a-site-build-it-review.html)

She also goes on to state that upon publishing the negative review, the owner of Solo Build It! (Ken Evoy) and the companies affiliates went on a mission to attack her.

And according to the comments section of her website, she’s not the only victim of such an attack.

In fact, one member claimed that upon publishing a complaint about Solo Build It! in the support forums they were immediately shut down and made to feel like an outcast (despite being a member for several years).

So, in short, it seems that there are some toxic goings-on in the world of Solo Build It!.

But the attacks don’t appear to be the only problem. Apparently, (according to the real-reviewer) all of this started because of the fact that Solo Build It! didn’t leverage the WordPress platform.

Instead, they provided members with their own in-house website builder.

And taken from the review, here’s a chart outlining Kristi’s website’s performance when she moved her website from the Solo Build It! platform to the WordPress platform:

Website Traffic Chart

So it seems that the Solo Build It! website platform is holding people back because, according to Kristi, through Solo Build It! she had to waste several hours each week doing the things that WordPress does automatically.

Which brings me onto…

Solo Build It! VS Wealthy Affiliate

When I was looking through the Solo Build It! reviews it became clear that each one claimed that the so-called “fake reviews” where allegedly promoting what they referred to as an “inferior product”.

And eventually, I discovered that the “inferior product” they were referring to was Wealthy Affiliate… Which is odd, as that’s a place that I actually highly recommend.

But then everything fell into place & I understand what was going on.

Wealthy Affiliate leverages WordPressSolo Build It! doesn’t.

And so, it seems that rather than moving with the times & switching to WordPress, the team behind Solo Build It! are attempting to simply give their competition a bad reputation in an effort to steal their custom.

That became evident when I ran a search in Google for “Wealthy Affiliate” & discovered that SiteSell (the company behind Solo Build It!) were literally paying for adverts telling people not to join Wealthy Affiliate & to join their company instead.

Take a look:

SiteSell Advert

And upon clicking that link you’re taken to a page that says the following about Solo Build It! reviews:

Fake Reviews

So essentially they’re claiming that people are reviewing Solo Build It! & arriving at the verdict that Wealthy Affiliate is better… And in short, it appears that they don’t like it.

However, Solo Build It! are doing everything that they’re claiming is “wrong”.

For example, if you search Wealthy Affiliate reviews, you’ll see that NONE of them make even the slightest reference to Solo Build It!, let alone do they “trash it” as SBI! claim.

Furthermore, if you search “Solo Build It!” in Google, there are certainly no paid advertisements put out by Wealthy Affiliate trying to steal members.

Yet on the flip-side of the coin if you search “Solo Build It! reviews”, then 8 out of 11 of the reviews written by Solo Build It! staff or affiliates trash Wealthy Affiliate & then go on to promote Solo Build It!

And as I previously mentioned, Solo Build It! are also paying for advertising specifically to damage Wealthy Affiliate‘s reputation & attempt to steal its customers.

Not good, huh?

In fact, SiteSell themselves have now also even published a Wealthy Affiliate review on their official website that trashes Wealthy Affiliate & then later promotes Solo Build It!, as shown below:

Solo Build It! Wealthy Affiliate Review

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen such a dirty trick from a company.

And what’s worse is the fact that they make misleading claims in their review, too.

For example, they state the following:

Solo Build It! Claim

At a glance, that makes Wealthy Affiliate look bad & Solo Build It! seem great, but let’s compare the truths:

  • Wealthy Affiliate offer a free membership (hence no refunds)
  • Solo Build It! has NO free membership (charges $299/year)

But you don’t just have to take my word for all of this. The reviews on TrustPilot (shown below) speak volumes about what’s going on here & really highlight the toxicity of SiteSell:

SiteSell TrustPilot Reviews

So with all that in mind, it’s probably easy to see why I made the decision not to join Solo Build It!.

Maybe their website builder is great (despite statistics highlighting otherwise) & maybe their training does work… But either way, I have no intention of getting involved with such a seemingly toxic company.

Which brings me onto…

Is Solo Build It! a Scam?

If you run a search for “Solo Build It! scam” and trawl through the results then you’ll find many reviews stating that the company is a scam… However, personally, I don’t believe that it is.

At the same time, however, I don’t recommend it.

You see, I believe that Solo Build It! is actually a relatively good platform (despite the website builder being outdated) & I believe that it’s fairly reasonably priced for what you get, too.

But my biggest concern is simply with the toxicity of the company.

It seems as though you’re not allowed to do anything other than praise the company & that if you’re caught complaining or saying anything even slightly negative, you risk being shut down.

That’s just not good business, in my opinion.

So, as far as I’m concerned, there’s good reason why many of the Solo Build It! reviews are recommending Wealthy Affiliate instead. They’re recommending because, frankly, it’s better.

And it seems that rather than try to improve their service, Solo Build It! are just funneling their money into trying to bring down their competition instead, as you can now probably see for yourself.

The Bottom Line

I didn’t join Solo Build It! & I have no intention to. I literally don’t think I’ve ever seen a company operating with such toxicity in my entire life & so, as a result, I’ll be staying well away from it.

It’s a shame really, as it seems they might actually have an “okay” product & I did want to check it out to publish a full review for my readers, but there’s just no way I’m handing over my money to a company that operates in such a malicious manner.

And as for Wealthy Affiliate, well that’s a product I have used & it’s also a product I do recommend…

Does that make me one of the “malicious reviewers” that trashes SBI! & then recommends Wealthy Affiliate? Well, I guess it does now… But had SiteSell not have leveraged such dirty tactics, this review would probably look a lot different.

In fact, I may have even been recommending Solo Build It! to you, rather than Wealthy Affiliate.

But I think the bottom line is that the team at Solo Build It! need to stop going after the reviewers that “trash” the product & instead, start focusing on WHY they’re “trashing” it & make improvements to their service accordingly.

That way, they might actually start getting some positive reviews.

Either way, if you were considering joining Solo Build It! & happened to come across this post then I’m hoping that the information in it proved useful to you & helped you to see that there’s a better alternative.

A Better Alternative

The sad truth is that unfortunately most of the programs promising to help you make money online are scams. I can say that confidently after exposing over 500+ of them here on this blog.

But the good news is that even though most of them are indeed scams, there are actually some very good programs in amongst them - some programs that can truly help you to earn money.

And out of all of the legit programs I've seen, the one I would recommend the most to anybody looking to get started online is Commission Academy. In my own opinion, that's the best place to start.

At Commission Academy, you'll be provided with everything you need (including the training & tools) to begin earning real money by promoting products or services for companies like Amazon online.

The best part is that there's literally no limit on the amount you can earn with it & the process is pretty simple which means that it's absolutely perfect for people that don't have much experience.

Some wealthy affiliates even earn as much as 5-figures per month... Or more!

Amazon Earnings Example

I mean don't get me wrong, that kind of money won't just fall into your lap without doing any work... But the harder you're willing to work at it, the more you stand to earn with it.

So if you're looking to get started but don't know which route you should go down or which program you should join (and don't want to waste money on bogus things that don't actually work), then I'd highly recommend checking out Commission Academy first. You can learn more about it here.
